Job Title: Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. As a Registered Nurse in our Pediatric Intensive Care unit, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our young patients and their families.

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Manager, Health Services, the Registered Nurse will provide professional registered nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to patient-centered care and will be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide independent nursing services to patients, including administration of prescribed medical treatments
  • Lead the healthcare team in providing high-quality patient care
  • Facilitate coordination of patient care and discharge
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program
  • Minimum of two years recent acute nursing experience, with preference given to those with pediatric experience
  • Successful completion of a post-basic ICU course is preferred
  • CPR Training at the Health Care Provider Level required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses
  • Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA)
  • Regional/Facility/Unit policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines
