The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Director from Norway to learn the processes and technology involved before taking over full project responsibility. This role will assume overall responsibility for a multi-year project with primary responsibility for management, planning, progress, and reporting. The Project Director will report into the President and Managing Director of Kongsberg Geospatial Ltd. The ideal candidate will have extensive cross-functional project management experience, preferably with implementation of projects from inception to completion that include managing a team of Project Coordinators and/or Managers. Key responsibilities include management of interdisciplinary project teams, planning and execution of multiple project activities, negotiation and follow-up of contracts with customers, and ensuring good interaction and communication between all stakeholders involved in the projects' various phases. The successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of systems engineering, software engineering, and technical solution discussions. A Computer Science, Software or Systems Engineering degree is preferred, or a combination of education and working experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience in a cross-functional engineering project leadership role is required. Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in the successful execution of large-scale projects is essential. Ability to manage and guide multi-year and multi-million dollar projects is also required. PMP certification is considered an asset, as is experience managing a team of project managers.
