Director of Information Technology

Role and Contributions: We are seeking a Director of Information Technology to join our team. This leader will drive technology vision and program oversight to build a fully unified IT architecture aligned with our business objectives. This role will oversee the enhancement of a high-performance tech stack that supports the company ambitious growth targets, employing industry-leading service models to uphold a secure, resilient, and efficient IT environment.


In this capacity, the Director will steer our technology strategy and operations, strengthening our capabilities to deliver outstanding customer service, fostering innovation and efficiency across the business, advancing our working methods, and safeguarding company assets. This position requires a candidate with a deep technical foundation in project planning and implementation aligned to business priorities, a long-term strategic approach, and excellent communication skills.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

IT Strategy:

  • Develop and guide the evolution of the company's IT strategy in alignment with business growth, informed by deep industry and technology insights.
  • Oversee planning and project implementation to advance the tech stack, including key systems for billing, provisioning, workforce management, ticketing, project management, CRM, and ERP.
  • Ensure technology leadership in corporate applications and processes through collaboration with external partners and vendors, leveraging new tech solutions and best practices.

IT Operations:

  • Ensure smooth business operations with high-quality day-to-day IT support, data management, backups, and hardware oversight.
  • Maintain robust security protocols across all devices, encompassing servers, networks, desktops, and mobile devices.
  • Develop and update policies and procedures that govern information management, continuity, privacy, and security.
  • Continuously enhance the cybersecurity framework to safeguard against IT, network, and information asset threats.
  • Support internal users by providing access to industry-standard training and resources for desktop tools and corporate applications.
  • Oversee hardware and software budgets to support customer growth and ensure technological leadership within our business processes.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in areas like project management, data governance, enterprise architecture, change management, and cybersecurity are a plus.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation and standards (PIPEDA, NIST, PCI DSS) is required.

Experience:

  • Progressive experience in technology roles, including the integration of complex technology within a cohesive environment.
  • Strong expertise in project delivery, including defining requirements, planning, implementation, vendor coordination, integration, and data migration.
  • Strategic planning experience encompassing cost analysis, risk management, and opportunity evaluation.
  • Prior experience in telecom or utilities is needed
