Job Description

Job Title: Sessional Lecturer in Mathematics Education

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sessional Lecturer in Mathematics Education to join our team at Ontario Tech University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mathematics courses at the university level, developing and delivering course materials, and assessing student performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach mathematics courses at the university level, including introductory and advanced courses in mathematics education
  • Develop and deliver course materials, including lesson plans, assignments, and assessments
  • Assess student performance and provide feedback to students
  • Participate in departmental and faculty meetings to discuss curriculum development and other matters
  • Contribute to the development of mathematics education programs and initiatives at Ontario Tech University

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mathematics education or a related field
  • PhD in mathematics education or a related field (an asset)
  • Experience teaching mathematics courses at the university level
  • Strong knowledge of mathematics education theory and practice
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and implementation
  • Experience with educational technology and online learning platforms
