Pipeline Technician Job Description

Pembina Pipeline Corporation is seeking a skilled Pipeline Technician to join their team in Fort St. John, BC. As a key member of the Conventional Business Unit, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of pipelines transporting crude oil, condensate, and NGL across Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Pembina's safety culture by adhering to "Zero by Choice" and "Life Saving Rules".
  • Assist operations with pipeline crossing installations, inspections, and recordings.
  • Support the running of inspection tools, integrity dig programs, and line purges.
  • Monitor cathodic and geotechnical issues on pipelines.
  • Supervise contractors during brushing and vegetation control operations.
  • Participate in helicopter/fixed wing line patrols.
  • Process One-Calls (British Columbia and Alberta systems), witnessing and supervising pipeline crossings.
  • Maintain a positive company image by visiting landowners.
  • Check all pipeline crossing request applications.
  • Perform various assignments related to health, safety, and the environment.
Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 years of experience in pipeline/oilfield operations or construction.
  • Experience in various trades such as Millwright, Pipefitter, Welder, or pipeline construction is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Safety Courses: TDG, H2S Alive, First Aid would be an asset.
  • Ability to take on demanding and physical responsibilities.

This position is considered "Safety Sensitive" and requires Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing. The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Fort St. John, BC.

Pembina's Flexible Work Standard provides the option for eligible employees to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position and will undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
