Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Maintenance Coordinator to join our team at Mark's. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and event planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily maintenance tasks, including general building maintenance, housekeeping support, and equipment maintenance.
  • Manage service requests, including receiving, processing, and validating requests, and maintaining service call/work order tracking.
  • Perform regular floor inspections to identify areas in need of repair or maintenance, and coordinate with contractors to facilitate repairs.
  • Coordinate meeting room facilities, including booking, setup, and operation, and provide detailed evaluations of meeting room facilities.
  • Coordinate installation of new equipment, including electrical and cabling contractors, carpenters, drywallers, and other skilled trades.
  • Respond to after-hours emergency calls related to physical building, building environment, or building systems.
  • Coordinate loading dock facilities for external service providers and caterers.
  • Direct accountability for physical event set-ups, including furniture, stage, and entrance structures, power requirements, furniture removal/storage, catering equipment, communications, and signage.
  • Support staff relocations and furniture modifications, including making minor adjustments, repairs, and modifications to furniture.
  • Proactively address potential requirements around things such as coffee, water, waste management, cleaning services, plant maintenance, after-hours access for elevators and space, meeting space, Fire Plans, and evacuation meeting locations.
  • Work cooperatively with others and be able to adapt to changing requests.
  • Carry out assigned work and be willing to be flexible to take on additional unassigned work that may be required to complete a task.
  • Problem-solve and develop solutions to support unconventional facility requests.

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of experience in a related field is an asset.
  • Ability to assess the impact of facility failures.
  • Proven ability to assess situations and take necessary actions to resolve.
  • Related trade or technical experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements is an asset.
  • Experience working with external contractors and resources.
  • First Aid training and first responder experience is an asset.
  • Experience assembling and dismantling various types of furniture systems.
  • Operational planning and scheduling related to preventative, proactive, reactive, and emergency repairs and maintenance.
  • Project management experience is an asset.
  • Experience with H&S policies and best practices, fire plans, building evacuation, and emergency response programs.
