Job Overview

BC Ferries is seeking a skilled Payroll Team Lead to join our team. This is a key role that requires strong leadership and coordination skills.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a seasoned payroll professional to oversee the semi-monthly payroll process, provide daily support to payroll analysts, and ensure timely and accurate processing of pay. You will also be responsible for coordinating case management activities, providing training and guidance, and documenting procedures.

The Role

As a Payroll Team Lead, you will report to the Payroll Manager and be responsible for:

  • Coordinating case management activities for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
  • Providing daily guidance and support to payroll analysts
  • Resolving payroll enquiries from employees
  • Providing subject matter expertise on payroll processes and policies
  • Ensuring staff have appropriate training and procedures are documented and maintained
  • Participating in project development and implementation
  • Reviewing business processes and recommending improvements

What We're Looking For

You must have completed the Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation and hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or Accounting. Additionally, you should have 4-6 years of experience in complex computerized environments, including training and supervising payroll staff.

Additional Information
