Job Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at Coast Restaurant. As a Pastry Cook, you will be responsible for creating and preparing confectionery and other pastry-based items in accordance with our existing menu.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for creating and preparing confectionery and other pastry-based items in accordance with existing menu
- Inspect the quality of ingredients and accurately measure them for specific recipes
- Execute pastry orders as per spec and garnishing requirements
- Ensure compliance with food handling safety regulations, health and safety workplace policies and procedures
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of pastry cook, baker, or similar experience
- Completion of related pastry culinary program, is an asset
- Food Safe certification, or willingness to train
- Energetic with a passion for everything "sweet" and a positive outlook
- Creative ability in design and decorating
- Workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Solid understanding of standard measurements and portions
- Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
- Excellent team player and camaraderie with others
- Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Organizational Skills and team player
