Job Summary

At The Children's Aid Society of the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin, we are seeking a dedicated Child Protection Worker to provide comprehensive support to children, youth, and families in need. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the immediate and ongoing safety of our clients, working closely with them to provide expert guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive Child Welfare services to children, youth, and families, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and community stakeholders to provide effective support and services.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, lawyers, and medical professionals, to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  • Document all contacts and interactions with clients, families, and other stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and Ministry standards to ensure the highest level of service delivery.
  • Participate in professional development activities, training, and education to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that meet the unique needs of our clients.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) or degree in Human Services/Studies. Diploma in Social Work may be considered with a commitment to furthering education.
  • Experience: Minimum two years of relevant experience working in child protection and delivering child protection services. Five years of experience in Child Welfare or Social Work for candidates with a diploma.
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
