Job Title: Childcare Assistant Professional

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant Professional to join our team at Discovery Early Learning & Care.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and care. As a Childcare Assistant Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of children in our care.

Responsibilities:
  • Bath, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, promoting healthy habits and routines.
  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children, aligning with our centre's curriculum goals.
  • Assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote children's growth and development.
  • Keep accurate records of children's progress, activities, and any notable events.
  • Engage children in various activities, such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, fostering creativity and imagination.
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, ensuring a smooth and efficient environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of licensing regulations and plan an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Credentials:
  • Familiarity with food allergy and anaphylaxis training.
  • Holding a First Aid Certificate.
  • Possessing a CPR Certificate.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year.
  • Full-time enrollment.
  • Immunization records.
  • Vulnerable sector check.
  • Own transportation (public transportation is available).
Work Environment:

The work site environment is characterized by:

The work setting is primarily in a child care centre.
