The Children's Aid Society of the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin is seeking a skilled Family Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our child welfare team, you will provide intensive and customized services to families in need, promoting the well-being and safety of children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service Coordination: Coordinate visits between children and their family members to assess and enhance parental skills and capacities.
  • Assessment and Planning: Assess the strengths and challenges of families, develop goals for participation in our Family Engagement and In-Home Support services, and create plans to meet identified goals.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis management services as needed, ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families.
  • Community Resource Development: Establish and maintain relationships with community service providers and stakeholders to ensure access to necessary resources for families.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to develop concise and thorough reports.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards.
  • Good understanding of the agency's values, service philosophy, and objectives.
  • Clinical knowledge of child maltreatment, child development, attachment, and separation.
  • Demonstrated clinical counseling skills to provide assessment, engagement, and support services to families and children.

We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.
