Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Regional Director to join our team in British Columbia. This individual will be responsible for leading the region through its next evolution, partnering with a team of colleagues, volunteers, and teens across the region's Jewish communal hubs, nurturing a diverse network of stakeholders, and ensuring that BBYO provides a best-in-class experience for Jewish teens that's meaningful, transformative, fun, and professional.
Key Responsibilities- Work with teens to create impactful, fun, and dynamic programs including large scale community projects and overnight conventions each year
- Build, sustain, and evolve meaningful partnerships and networks in the community
- Develop and manage programming, oversee program budgets, and grow management skills
- Empower and inspire teens and volunteer advisors through mentorship, coaching, and training
- Lead on building relationships with local schools to strengthen BBYO and JCC/community brand visibility with under-affiliated and unaffiliated Jewish teens
- Support the JCC Teen Lounge (and its related teen programming), connect teens to JCC volunteer and JCC camp employment opportunities, promote JCC specialty classes, lead teen presence at community events and festivals, and assist with other primary JCC teen activities
- 1-3 years of work experience in teen/community programming, event operations, or a related field
- A bachelor's degree or higher
- Experience with youth or teens is preferred; experience leading teams or projects is preferred
- Ability to travel as needed and to staff a summer leadership program at a location in North America for 2-3 weeks each summer, attend International Convention (every February), and BBYO Staff Conference, as well as other opportunities as relevant
- Ability to work non-traditional hours (nights and weekends) when teens are available
- It would be great if you spoke Russian, Hebrew, French or other languages
