Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Health Care Professional to join our team at the Red Fish Healing Centre. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to clients with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor clients' progress and provide emotional support and counseling as needed.
- Participate in the admission, case planning, and discharge process for clients, including conducting interviews and gathering relevant information.
- Drive clients to designated locations and assist with daily living activities, such as time management and organization.
- Establish rapport with clients and provide supportive counseling to facilitate their recovery.
- Recommend changes to treatment goals with counselors and participate in activities to support skill development and addictions recovery.
Requirements
- Diploma from a recognized Social Services Support Worker educational program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid Class 4 driver's license (unrestricted).
- Knowledge of the principles of recovery in mental illness and substance misuse.
- Ability to demonstrate and assist clients with development of health life skills.
