Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Privacy Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting our corporate privacy management program, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and internal privacy protection policies. The Privacy Analyst will work closely with the Chief Privacy Officer and Legal Counsel to investigate privacy breaches, conduct Privacy Impact Assessments, and provide training on privacy best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Investigate and respond to privacy breaches and incidents, ensuring timely and effective mitigation measures.
- Conduct and review Privacy Impact Assessments for internal and external systems, programs, and initiatives.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on privacy laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).
- Develop and maintain authorization forms, privacy policies, and procedures, ensuring up-to-date knowledge on privacy legislation and best practices.
- Deliver education and training on privacy to internal stakeholders, supporting the revision, update, and maintenance of privacy training materials.
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Completion of a Business Communications course or equivalent.
- Demonstrated proficiency in intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- 4 years of related experience researching and writing formal documents/reports, including 2 years of experience in a Privacy Analyst or equivalent position interpreting PIPA and FIPPA.
- Demonstrated experience preparing reports to support policy analysis and decision-making for privacy.
- Demonstrated experience drafting PIAs for technological systems that adhere to the guidelines for private sector entities under privacy legislation.
