Privacy Officer

The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is seeking a highly skilled Privacy Officer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive privacy program. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information, while maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the protection of personal and sensitive information
- Conduct risk assessments and implement controls to mitigate potential security threats
- Collaborate with senior management and staff to ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations
- Provide training and education to staff on privacy and security best practices
- Investigate and respond to privacy incidents and breaches
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies and industry partners
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as law, information technology, or health administration
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, including experience in privacy and security
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
