Job Title: Privacy Officer

The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is seeking a highly skilled Privacy Officer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive privacy program. As a key member of the organization's leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and provincial privacy legislation.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Provide training and education to staff on privacy best practices and procedures.
  • Investigate and respond to privacy-related incidents and complaints.
  • Collaborate with senior management and legal counsel to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Supervise the Privacy and Policy Coordinator and manage the Incident Response Management program.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in health administration, law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, including experience with privacy legislation and regulations.
  • Completion of an Information Access and/or Privacy Professional Certificate Program is beneficial.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior management and staff.
