Privacy Officer

The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is seeking a highly skilled Privacy Officer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive privacy program. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain information privacy policies and procedures in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and security threat risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Provide training and education to staff on privacy and data protection best practices.
- Investigate and respond to privacy-related incidents and complaints.
- Collaborate with senior management and legal counsel to ensure compliance with privacy laws and regulations.
- Supervise the Privacy and Policy Coordinator and manage the Incident Response Management program.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., health administration, law, social work, health research, information science).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations.
- Completion of an Information Access and/or Privacy Professional Certificate Program is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with senior management and staff.
