Privacy Officer

The BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS is seeking a highly skilled Privacy Officer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive privacy program. As a key member of the organization's leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal and provincial privacy legislation.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Provide training and education to staff on privacy best practices and procedures.
- Investigate and respond to privacy complaints and incidents.
- Collaborate with senior management and legal counsel to ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Supervise the Privacy and Policy Coordinator and manage the Incident Response Management program.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., health administration, law, social work, health research, information science).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, with a strong background in privacy and information access.
- Completion of an Information Access and/or Privacy Professional Certificate Program (e.g., CIPP/C, CIPT, CIPM, CAPPA) is beneficial.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a changing environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior management and staff.
