About the Opportunity

The Marine Affairs Program at Dalhousie University invites applications for a Dalhousie Diversity Faculty Award (DDFA) hire to join our transdisciplinary teaching and research community. This recruitment initiative aims to increase the number of faculty members from historically underrepresented groups.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead cutting-edge applied marine management research programs, with a focus on aquaculture, fisheries, ocean equity, coastal access, and co-governance.
  • Teach and mentor students in the Master of Marine Management (MMM) degree program and other individual programs of research.
  • Contribute to the development of research proposals, grants, and other funding opportunities.
  • Engage in outreach and service activities, including collaboration with industry partners, government agencies, and community organizations.
  • Uphold principles of inclusivity, equity, diversity, and accessibility in teaching, research, and service.
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field, or near completion.
  • Experience in teaching, research, and outreach in marine management or a related field.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching, research, and service.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
