Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Care Worker to join our team at the Shared Health Compass Youth Program. As a key member of our inter-disciplinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our clients, while also providing therapeutic interventions and support programming.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure client safety and well-being through effective risk assessment and management.
  • Participate in client orientation and assessment processes to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement therapeutic interventions, including group-based educational and support programming.
  • Plan and deliver recreational programming to promote physical fitness and leisure interests.
  • Assist clients in the classroom and contribute to ongoing treatment planning.
  • Respond to potential crisis situations in a calm and effective manner.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience, preferably in a substance use and/or mental health treatment setting.
  • Crisis response experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of adolescence, at-risk youth, addictions, and mental health.
Education and Certification
  • Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
  • Completion of the Child & Youth Care Certificate program or training in the social sciences is desirable.
Physical Requirements
  • Suitable physical health to perform required duties.
  • Availability for shift work.
