Youth Support Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Youth Support Specialist. As a key member of our Cultural Program, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of life skills, social skills, and access to community resources for children and youth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement awareness and prevention programs to address issues affecting First Nations youth;
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions to support youth development;
- Assist in organizing community-based initiatives and engaging youth in discussions around relevant issues and concerns;
- Participate in developing youth planning and facilitating grief workshops;
- Inspire youth to adopt healthy lifestyles and promote positive relationships with their community;
- Attend meetings, case conferences, and training sessions as required;
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or designate.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent education and relevant experience;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask;
- Experience in facilitating groups, public speaking, presentations, and writing reports;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends;
- Ability to speak and understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree culture is an asset;
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening;
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
