Nursing Care Support Worker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Nursing Care Support Worker to join our team at Romko Residences LTD. As a Nursing Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
  • Assist with serving meal trays and feeding patients.
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients safely and efficiently.
  • Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments.
  • Maintain patients' rooms, including making beds and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment.
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines and provide support as needed.
  • Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as required.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure that all necessary equipment is available.
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect.
  • Transport patients between care facilities and provide support during transfers.
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs and respond accordingly.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas.
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations and provide support until medical help arrives.
Work Environment:

As a Nursing Care Support Worker, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of pressure. You will be required to perform repetitive tasks and work in a physically demanding role. You must be able to distinguish between colors and have excellent attention to detail.

Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Other trades certificate or diploma, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
