Nursing Care Support Worker Job Description

At Romko Residences LTD, we are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Care Support Worker to join our team. As a Nursing Care Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take patients' vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Assist with serving meal trays and feeding patients
  • Weigh, lift, turn, and position patients with care and attention
  • Deliver messages, reports, requisitions, and specimens between departments
  • Maintain patients' rooms, including making beds and ensuring a clean and comfortable environment
  • Supervise patients' exercise routines and provide support and encouragement
  • Administer suppositories, colonic irrigations, and enemas as required
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure they are readily available
  • Bathe, dress, and groom patients with dignity and respect
  • Transport patients between care facilities, using wheelchairs or stretchers as needed
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs and respond promptly
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations, following established protocols

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work in a fast-paced environment, often under pressure
  • Perform repetitive tasks, requiring attention to detail and physical stamina
  • Work in a physically demanding role, requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and maintain attention to detail
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday

Requirements:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Required certifications and training
