We are proud to offer an exciting opportunity for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as an Architect at Johnston Davidson Architecture in Vancouver. This is an introductory level position, ideal for those looking to build their architectural career and contribute to civic projects that benefit the community.
Job DescriptionAs an Architect with our team, you will be responsible for providing support to senior architects on various tasks, including preparing programming space for studies and projects, ensuring building codes are up-to-date, and adhering to legal requirements. You will also develop working drawings using Revit, assist in preparing drawing submissions, building permits, and other construction administration tasks, participate in deficiency reviews, site details, and site visits, and review shop drawings and submittals.
This role offers a unique chance to work on civic projects that have a lasting impact on the community, such as fire halls, city halls, police stations, and recreation/community centers. Our team prides itself on its commitment to delivering high-quality designs that meet the needs of our clients and contribute to the growth and development of the community.
Requirements- Eligibility to register with the AIBC program
- M.Arch in Architecture or equivalent from an institution recognized by the AIBC/CACB
- Previous experience working in an office setting for a minimum of two to three years
- Strong Adobe skills (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
- Proficient in Revit
- Physical model making
- Computer rendering and digital visualization skills
- Knowledge of the BC Building Code
- Good work ethic and enthusiasm for working as a team
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Well-organized with good interpersonal skills
- Legally able to work in Canada
- Valid driver's license
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
