Product Engineer Job Description

At CB Canada, we are seeking a highly skilled Product Engineer to join our team. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from concept to production, ensuring that our products meet or exceed applicable safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engineering drawings, schematics, and prototypes based on pre-defined product requirements.
  • Analyze current product offerings to identify areas for improvement, increase functionality, and reduce cost of production.
  • Consider the environmental and social impact of product design, manufacture, and disposal.
  • Reverse-engineer competitor product offerings to identify key product strengths and weaknesses.
  • Develop solutions to product weaknesses and test physical and computerized drawings and prototypes for functionality, reliability, and ease of manufacture.
  • Collaborate with the product development team to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Ensure all products meet or exceed applicable safety standards.
  • Research components, part suppliers, and materials for suitability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Prepare detailed product development reports at each stage of the development process.
  • Liaise with sales and manufacturing departments to ensure product specifications align with corporate strategy and competitive goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years' experience in product development.
  • Good analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel to USA and international destinations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
