Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engineering drawings, schematics, and prototypes based on product requirements.
- Analyze current product offerings to identify areas for improvement, increase functionality, and reduce production costs.
- Consider the environmental and social impact of product design, manufacture, and disposal.
- Reverse-engineer competitor products to identify key strengths and weaknesses.
- Develop solutions to product weaknesses and improve overall product quality.
- Test and validate physical and computerized drawings and prototypes for functionality, reliability, and ease of manufacture.
- Collaborate with the product development team to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Ensure all products meet or exceed applicable safety standards.
- Research and recommend suitable components, part suppliers, and materials for product development.
- Prepare detailed product development reports at each stage of the development process.
- Liaise with sales and manufacturing departments to ensure product specifications align with corporate strategy and competitive goals.
- Respond to product development and functionality inquiries.
- Develop detailed product manufacturing instructions, schematic drawings, and training materials for manufacturing, sales, and use of products.
- Oversee the testing and analysis of materials.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product development, and sales methodologies.
- Assist the sales and marketing staff in understanding product functionality and benefits.
- Observe and maintain product-related policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the product development team to manage project budgets and timelines.
- Troubleshoot product malfunctions and failures to prevent future concerns.
- Maintain accurate product development records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product development or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel to USA and international destinations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
- Good customer service skills.
