Key Responsibilities
  • Assists in the planning, design, and implementation of the company-wide Risk Management process, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk appetite.
  • Conducts risk identification through assessments, analyzing contracts, documents, statistics, reports, and market trends to evaluate and quantify risks.
  • Provides advice, counsel, and direction on risk and insurance matters to internal stakeholders, including Operations and Corporate Services.
  • Directs and manages outsourced service providers in insurance, finance, and legal areas.
  • Participates in negotiations with owners and third parties to manage project financial risk.
  • Develops innovative techniques to manage, mitigate, and finance risk costs.
  • Builds risk awareness and educates others in the organization.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management and/or insurance.
  • Strong leadership skills and results-oriented approach.
  • Post-secondary degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Economics, or Law.
  • Strong technical acumen in insurance and risk management.
  • Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to cope under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-directed, results-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with emphasis on presentation, negotiation, and influencing others.
  • Ability to understand broad and complex business issues.
  • Ability to lead a high-performance team and project management skills.
