Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate individual to join our team as a Public Authority Deputy and Appointee Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work with vulnerable residents who require support in managing their financial affairs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of individuals who require the support of a Public Authority Deputy and those more complex Appointee cases.
  • Carry out financial affairs with due care and diligence in the best interests of the individuals, ensuring receipt of eligible welfare benefits, safeguarding and management of savings and property, payment of living expenses, and allocations and disbursement of personal allowances.
  • Work closely with colleagues to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for individuals and their families.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in working in the role of Court Appointed Deputy and/or Public Authority Deputy.
  • Considerable knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Welfare Benefits, Court of Protection legal procedures and regulations, and the Public Health Act 1984.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with individuals and their families in a sensitive and empathetic manner.
  • Strong financial skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex financial affairs.
