Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Designer to participate in all stages of electronic circuit development, from architecture to validation and documentation. The successful candidate will provide support to the Production and NPI teams, as well as the Customer Support team.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in new hardware designs from concept to mass production.
  • Gather and identify component level requirements, including functional and physical characteristics.
  • Develop embedded and electronic designs using schematic capture.
  • Oversee PCB layout, considering component placement, shielding, and thermal dissipation.
  • Participate in system bring-up and debugging.
  • Write and execute low-level software tests to validate hardware design.
  • Support product introduction to manufacturing.
  • Maintain existing designs, mitigating production issues such as obsolescence and material changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in digital and analog circuit development.
  • Experience with complex high-speed electronic circuit design.
  • Good oral and written English skills for effective communication with multi-site teams. Oral French is required for communication with the Montreal team.
  • Strong debugging skills using oscilloscope, autonomous, and rigorous.

Assets

  • Familiarity with lab equipment, including RF signal and network analyzers.
  • Knowledge of cellular technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE,...).
  • Wireless RF design experience.
  • Knowledge of VHDL, Python, and C languages.
  • Knowledge of military standards (MIL-STD-810) is an asset.
