Job Title: Senior Hardware Designer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Designer to join our team at Octasic. As a Senior Hardware Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic circuits, including architecture, schematics, layout, validation, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in new hardware designs from concept to mass production
  • Gather and identify component level requirements
  • Develop embedded and electronic designs using schematic capture
  • Oversee PCB layout, considering component placement, shielding, and thermal dissipation
  • Participate in system bring-up and debugging
  • Write and execute low-level software tests to validate hardware design
  • Support product introduction to manufacturing
  • Maintain existing designs, mitigating production issues such as obsolescence, material changes, etc.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum work experience of 10 years related to digital and analog circuit development
  • Experience with complex high-speed electronic circuit design
  • Good oral and written English skills for good communication with our multi-site teams. Oral French is required for good communication with our Montreal team
  • Strong debugging skills using oscilloscope, autonomous, and rigorous

Assets:

  • Familiar with the following lab equipment: RF signal and network analyzers
  • Knowledge of cellular technologies (GSM, UMTS, LTE,...)
  • Wireless RF design experience
  • Knowledge of VHDL, Python, and C language
  • Knowledge of military standards (MIL-STD-810) an asset
