Procurement Specialist, Direct Materials

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist, Direct Materials to join our team at Aliaxis. As a key member of our Direct Purchasing Team, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing inventory for our manufacturing facilities, ensuring timely delivery of products at the best value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement replenishment programs for Bill Of Material (BOM) items, focusing on automation and process optimization.
  • Manage inventory levels by monitoring and analyzing trends to establish parameters such as minimum, maximum, EOQ, reorder points.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enable maximum value and contribute to sourcing initiatives.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure Supply Chain activities are aligned to support the business and improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Report and analyze weekly/monthly Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with explanation of variances.
  • Maintain accurate master data in our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  • Release purchase orders after validation of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) recommendations.
  • Monitor Requisitioning Systems and create purchase orders for Direct Items.
  • Implement and manage Kanban systems to manage inventory levels.
  • Work with Strategic Sourcing on sourcing activities and contract implementation.
  • Monitor and support on-time delivery of issued Purchase Orders.
  • Manage and monitor product complaints and resolution through Quality SCAR process.
  • Support new product implementation process utilizing a Stage Gate process.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain purchasing/inventory management reports.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • APICS, CPIM, CSCP, SCMAO – certifications are an asset.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Inventory Management, Purchasing, or related business experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of Kanban systems/VMI and plant operations.
  • Well-developed supply chain experience with strengths in vendor management and strategic vision.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience utilizing an MRP system.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Experience with Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPS, and Macros.
  • Experience in PowerBI would be a strong asset.
