We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Group Manager. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing the daily activities of our fleet operation in Ontario, ensuring that all transport requirements are met, and driving cost savings across our transport network.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the daily activities of our fleet operation in Ontario, including creating and posting shipping logs, assigning drivers to daily activities, and ensuring all T1 and T2 fleet transport requirements are met.
- Manage drivers (union employees) daily, using coaching and progressive discipline as required to ensure behavioral, performance, and safety expectations are met.
- Manage all third-party carrier operations for loads originating in Ontario, including load tendering, load follow-up, and performance monitoring.
- Support Brewery Operations, ensuring transport requirements are met, empty bottle requirements are met, and full goods shipments are picked up and delivered where required.
- Continuously manage cost and look for opportunities to improve across the entire transport network.
- Proactively lead and execute the safety and environment programs within all staging facilities to ensure a safe and productive working environment for all employees.
- Shift management of the union/management processes and relationships within the warehouse/staging facilities, providing coaching, leadership, development, and performance management to team members.
- University degree in a business or industry-related discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated ability to lead an operations facility with direct supervisory experience in a unionized environment.
- Proven ability to manage transport operations in a high-volume environment, including leadership of a large hourly workforce.
- Strong leadership skills, technical competencies, and analytical skills.
