Job Summary

Providence Health Care is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse to join our team in the ABSU (Acute Behavioural Stabilization Unit) at St. Paul's Emergency Department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide exceptional care to patients with complex psychiatric needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and develop individualized care plans for patients with acute psychiatric needs
  • Provide direct nursing interventions for crisis and life-threatening situations
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
  • Document patient progress and outcomes
  • Participate in nursing orientation and share clinical knowledge with other staff
Requirements
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • Two years' recent psychiatric nursing experience in a tertiary care emergency department or acute psychiatric setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment
