Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Audio Visual Systems Technician to join our team at Ramcom Communications. As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for installing and servicing audio visual products, including video walls, LED/Direct view displays, projectors, video conferencing systems, wiring, and cabling, rack audio configurations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and Service: Install and service cabling infrastructure and audio / visual devices, including pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labelling per specifications/drawings.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers and prospects, ensuring all inquiries are handled professionally.
  • Quality and Customer Service: Strong focus on quality and customer service.
  • Technical Knowledge: Crestron/Extron/Q-SYS, Poly, Biamp, Shure, Vaddio, Zoom, Teams and similar products.
  • Technical Concepts: Ability to understand key technical AV concepts like multicasting, audio DSP, video conferencing, etc.
  • Safety and Incident Reporting: Ensure that safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Design and Planning: Read, interpret and design AV system plans; plan view drawings, reflected ceiling plans, selection drawings, elevation drawings, equipment riser diagrams, system context diagrams, system flowcharts and block diagrams.
  • Onsite Installations: Attend onsite customer installations and liaising directly with the client onsite.
  • Testing and Configuration: Test, configure and diagnose built racks prior to field deployment.
  • Paperwork and Reporting: Complete detailed and accurate paperwork.
  • Health and Safety: Be an active participant in our Health and Safety Program.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting and installing AV systems is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work in a variety of environments, from construction sites to finished corporate offices.
  • Height Safety: Comfortable working at heights. At Heights certification an asset.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, comfortable working through novel issues and ability to think abstractly.
  • Driver's License: Valid Driver's License with clean abstract.
  • Education: Post-secondary education in electronics, electrical, telecommunications, or equivalent would be an asset.
  • Networking Knowledge: Networking knowledge, sound balancing knowledge.
  • Microsoft Applications: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Applications.
  • Certifications: CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, Extron and Crestron certifications are considered a strong asset.
