**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Registration/Booking Clerk to join our team at the Respiratory Clinic. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for scheduling and registering patients, managing referrals, and performing various administrative tasks.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Schedule and book patient appointments and follow-up appointments using a computerized scheduling system.
  • Receive and register patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate and complete patient demographics and information.
  • Perform referral functions, including data entry, paperwork processing, and scheduling new referrals based on established criteria.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and requests for information, and greeting patients and families.
  • Assemble and maintain client charts, utilizing appropriate forms and layout, and filing documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records, performing data entry, collating information, and maintaining log sheets and patient statistics.
  • Prepare and distribute various materials, such as correspondence, reports, and notices, using computerized word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Provide clerical support to the department, including booking meetings, following up on action items, and ordering office supplies.
  • Prepare and submit expense claims, ensuring accurate coding and authorization.

**Requirements**

  • Grade 12, plus two (2) years' recent experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to keyboard 45 wpm and knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Commitment to developing knowledge and understanding of legislative obligations and provincial commitments.
