Job Title: Production Buyer

As a key member of our team at CB Canada, the Production Buyer will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes. This position requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, procurement, and logistics.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage a large portfolio of fasteners, with approximately 1,000-1,500 SKUs, to ensure timely delivery and optimal pricing.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team to communicate deviations, specifications changes, plating, and raw materials requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with 10-15 vendors to negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with our requirements.
  • Prepare and analyze RFx documents to ensure the best possible outcomes for our company.
  • Coordinate the ordering and follow-up of parts for production, ensuring that all necessary components are delivered on time.
  • Manage contract templates, including the Supplier Requirement Manual, Development Agreement, Letter of Intent, and Limits of Liability, to ensure they align with current market realities.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in supply chain management or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing and purchasing, with a strong understanding of supply chain principles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with metal plating is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes, as well as any ERP systems.
  • Understanding of KANBAN principles and their application in a production environment.
