Head Chef Position in Nova Scotia

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at The Westin Nova Scotian, a luxurious hotel located in the heart of Halifax.
The successful candidate will have a culinary arts degree or diploma and at least 5-7 years of experience in professional kitchens, with a proven track record in menu development, food costing, and inventory management.
As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, presentation, and service. You will also be expected to manage a team of sous chefs, cooks, and support staff, fostering a positive and collaborative environment that encourages continuous improvement and professional development.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and train their team members. They will also possess advanced knowledge of cooking techniques, food presentation, and plating, as well as a creative flair for designing unique dishes and a passion for culinary innovation.
In addition to your culinary expertise, you will be required to maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and cleanliness standards, ensuring that all kitchen staff follow best practices.
