We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian (Pediatric) to join our team in Central East – Scarborough. As a VHA Dietitian, you will be responsible for assessing and providing consultation, recommendations of dietetic interventions to pediatric group of clients in their homes using evidence-based best practice. You will work collaboratively with the client care team to ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication regarding plans and schedules for interventions.

The successful candidate will have the following key areas of accountability:

  • Preparing client reports for health professionals to analyze for treatment
  • Developing plans and presentations for clients and their caregivers to provide thorough information on their diet as well as their goals
  • Educating internal and external staff members about healthy eating and proper nutrition
  • Supporting the following areas of intervention: failure to thrive, dysphasia, feeding problems, enteral feeding, diabetes, cancer, GI disorders and weight management

You will also be responsible for helping patients coming to terms with their illness and advising about special and time-specific diets. To support safe client care, you will develop knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Member in good standing with the College of Dieticians of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience (optimal)
  • Valid Driver's License with access to a vehicle
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently
  • Skilled in caseload management
  • Skilled at electronic documentation
  • Able to provide virtual care
