We are seeking a skilled Pediatric Dietitian to join our team in the Central East region. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of pediatric patients and their families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and providing consultation, recommendations of dietetic interventions to pediatric groups of clients in their homes using evidence-based best practice. They will ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with the client care team regarding plans and schedules for interventions, problem-solve in collaboration with the client and care team to create opportunities for more independence and promote VHA's core beliefs and values.

VHA's Pediatric Dietitians have the following key areas of accountability:

  • Preparing client reports for health professionals to analyze for treatment
  • Preparation of plans and presentations for clients and their caregivers to provide thorough information on their diet as well as their goals
  • Educating internal and external staff members about healthy eating and proper nutrition
  • Supporting the following areas of intervention: failure to thrive, dysphagia, feeding problems, enteral feeding, diabetes, cancer, GI disorders, and weight management
  • Helping patients coming to terms with their illness and advising about special and time-specific diets
  • Supporting safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience (optimal)
  • A valid driver's license with access to a vehicle
  • Compassion and empathy
  • Self-drive with ability to work independently
  • Skilled in caseload management
  • Skilled at electronic documentation
  • Able to provide virtual care
