Job Description

VHA Home HealthCare is a leading provider of home care services in Ontario, with a team of over 3,000 professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality, client-centered care. We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian (Pediatric) to join our team.

Role Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing and providing consultation, recommendations of dietetic interventions to pediatric clients in their homes using evidence-based best practices. They will ensure coordinated delivery of care through ongoing communication with the client care team regarding plans and schedules for interventions, problem-solve in collaboration with the client and care team to create opportunities for more independence and promote VHA's core beliefs and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepares client reports for health professionals to analyze for treatment.
  • Prepares plans and presentations for clients and their caregivers to provide thorough information on their diet as well as their goals.
  • Educates internal and external staff members about healthy eating and proper nutrition.
  • Supports the following areas of intervention: failure to thrive, dysphasia, feeding problems, enteral feeding, diabetes, cancer, GI disorders, and weight management.
  • Helps patients coming to terms with their illness and advises about special and time-specific diets.
  • Supports safe client care through the development of knowledge and skills in accordance with our principles of continuous quality improvement.

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing with the College of Dieticians of Ontario.
  • Minimum 2 years clinical experience (optimal).
  • Valid Driver's License with access to a vehicle.
  • Compassionate and empathetic.
  • Self-driven with ability to work independently.
  • Skilled in caseload management.
  • Skilled at electronic documentation.
  • Able to provide virtual care.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits and pension plan for permanent eligible employees.
