Salary and Benefits

This is a full-time, permanent position offering a salary range of $26.54 to $37.50 per hour, plus an excellent benefits package including company events, company pension, dental care, employee assistance program, life insurance, on-site parking, profit sharing, RRSP match, and vision care.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for improving throughput of operations by optimizing processes. This includes documenting changes to setpoints, programs, and parameters using the Process Change Log, Master program, and RID systems. Additionally, the individual will reduce downtime by executing Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities. They will identify non-standard conditions and communicate them to the Production Supervisors for resolution. The ideal candidate will decrease expenses by ensuring the optimum utilization of resources such as tooling, labor, material, and energy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, monitor, adjust, and maintain mechanical and hydraulic presses per established procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve automation, throughput, and product quality issues.
  • Review process sheets, general assembly, and technical documentation to understand and execute job requirements.
  • Minimize unplanned downtime by performing cleaning, total productive maintenance, and minor repairs to equipment.
  • Maximize production of quality product through continuous improvement initiatives, process monitoring, and proactive measures.
  • Provide training and leadership to production associates to ensure quality and production requirements are met.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A minimum Post-Secondary Mechanical Engineering Technology/Manufacturing Engineering Technician Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum 3-5 years of related experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience on a coining press is preferred.
  • A track record of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Experience in setting multi-level die sets, CNC controls, and sequence controls is an asset.
  • The ability to read blueprints.
  • Strong mechanical ability.
  • Computer literacy.
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.
Work Environment

This is a manufacturing environment with limited climate control. You must be able to work rotating shifts and overtime as required. Standing and walking for long periods of time are also necessary.
