We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Health Care Worker to join our team at BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services. As a Health Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health and substance use challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and Maintain Therapeutic Relationships
Build and maintain strong relationships with patients and their families, providing emotional support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
Provide Personal CareAssist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding, while maintaining their dignity and respect.
Nursing Care FunctionsPerform nursing care tasks, such as monitoring patient progress, reporting concerns, and communicating with healthcare teams.
Respond to EmergenciesRespond promptly to emergencies, such as patient distress or medical emergencies, and provide support as needed.
Monitor Patient ProgressObserve and monitor patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns to the healthcare team.
Requirements- Education and Training
Grade 10 or equivalent, with a recognized Nursing Assistant or Care Attendant program, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and KnowledgeEffective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and commitment to providing high-quality care.
