Job Title: Construction Project Manager

This is a full-time, on-site position in the Ottawa area.

As a Construction Project Manager at Asco Construction Ltd, you will be responsible for the overall planning, organization, direction, and control of each project assigned to you.

Your goal will be to successfully complete each project, safely and within time and budgetary constraints, to meet the objective of continued and sustainable growth of the Company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide safety leadership to the project team and subcontractors
  • Plan, schedule, and control daily activities of a project
  • Administer and manage prime contracts and subcontracts
  • Negotiate and award subcontracts
  • Manage project budget and billing
  • Oversee contract administration of RFIs, Submittals, Change Orders, etc.
  • Foster and maintain positive relations and communication with clients, consultants, architects, and subcontractors
Requirements:
  • At least seven (7) years of experience in Institutional, Commercial, Industrial, and/or Water/Wastewater construction
  • Professional engineering (P.Eng), Gold Seal Certificate (GSC), or project management certificate
  • Experience with LEED projects or LEED AP designation (an asset)
  • Excellent knowledge of the local market
  • Direct project management or site supervision of large Institutional, Commercial, Industrial, and/or Water/Wastewater construction projects valued between $10 million and $100 million
  • Experience with commissioning and startup of complex mechanical, process, and electrical systems
  • Superior leadership, motivational, and mentoring skills
  • Strong management, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills in English and in French (oral and written)
  • Service and results-oriented
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedules
  • Eligibility for security clearances and a valid driver's license
  • Superior working knowledge of MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
