About the Role

PCL Construction is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Administration: Provide overall contract administration, technical expertise, and support to the project team.
  • Safety Management: Develop and implement a comprehensive project safety plan, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Project Performance: Ensure the project is constructed as per design, budget, resources, quality, and schedule.
  • Client Relationships: Understand client drivers and offer value engineering proposals for functionality, cost, and schedule benefit.
  • Performance Reporting: Manage project performance and provide regular performance status reports for safety, cost forecast, and schedule.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and issue subcontracts, major purchase orders, and progress payments, monitoring their progress and schedule.
  • Contract Compliance: Understand, communicate, and enforce the contract and contract documents.
  • Project Closeout: Develop and coordinate overall project closeout.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage risk and opportunities on construction projects.
Requirements
  • Education: Postsecondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8–10 years of progressive construction experience with leadership and mentoring preferred.
  • Security Clearance: Eligible for security clearance (Secret Level).
  • Safety Culture: Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture by application of health, safety, and environment principles and legislation.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction industry including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, construction law and building codes, and safety and quality management practices.
  • Planning and Organization: Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills including the ability to manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
  • Technical Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, project management and scheduling software, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology.
