Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Subcontract Manager Lead to join our team at Ontario Transit Group. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for providing project-specific leadership and management in subcontract management and administration of engineered equipment, site works, professional services, and permanent plant materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Subcontract Management: Develop and manage construction project subcontract and material contract administration and control procedures from inception to completion.
- Contract Administration: Act as single point of contact and accountability for overall subcontract and material contract administration.
- Change Order Management: Oversee preparation of change orders, claims identification, and contract handler administration.
- Subcontractor Payment: Oversee all subcontract payment provisions and payment approvals.
- Dispute Resolution: Resolve subcontractor grievances and claims.
- Contract Review: Review subcontractor claims and contracts for conformance to project policy.
- Subcontract Management Systems: Oversee administration of subcontract management systems.
- Policies and Procedures: Communicate and enforce subcontracting policies and procedures to project team.
- Training: Provide training to ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Requirements:
- Education: Masters degree preferred. Must have a BA/BS in business, engineering, supply chain management, construction management, or equivalent degree and/or a minimum of years experience in engineering and/or construction or equivalent work/field experience.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of equipment and materials common in Design and Build projects, Canadian construction industry, and Ontario Construction Act.
- Skills: Detail-oriented, flexible, and highly motivated with a strong work ethic and professional demeanor. Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to perform multiple tasks efficiently and accurately. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Team player with the ability to also work independently to meet fixed deadlines, goals, and objectives.
