Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Care Physician to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Family Medicine Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to a diverse patient population
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and continuum
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and practice efficiency
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, guidelines, and best practices to provide evidence-based care
  • Operate within the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
  • Work towards same-day or next-day access for the practice population
  • Collaborate with other team members to best suit the community's health needs
  • Participate in emergency department coverage and after-hours access as required
  • Utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) to record all relevant patient details
Qualifications
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
  • Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
  • Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Emergency department experience is an asset
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with opportunities for locum work if desired. The successful candidate will be working in a dynamic and supportive team environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources.
