Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining our fleet of heavy equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular inspections and diagnostic tests to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, tire replacement, and tune-ups
  • Repair and replace defective parts, components, or systems as needed
  • Test equipment to ensure proper performance and adherence to manufacturers' specifications
  • Collaborate with other mechanics to complete complex repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Provide training and instruction to junior mechanics on equipment repair and maintenance procedures
Requirements
  • High School diploma required; Diploma of Professional Studies in heavy mechanic/diesel mechanic preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance
  • 3 years' experience in truck or heavy automotive equipment repair
  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (inter-provincial seal preferred)
Physical Abilities
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel, talk or hear, and smell
  • Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance
  • Must be capable of heavy lifting and moving parts up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis

  • Proven communication skills in English and French
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
