Join Our Team as an Economist or Senior Economist

We are seeking highly skilled economists to join our team at the Bank of Canada. As an economist in our Overseas Economies Division, you will play a key role in contributing to the Bank's monetary policy function by producing timely and impactful research and near-term forecasts of global economic activity.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Study and interpret macroeconomic developments in advanced and emerging market economies
  • Produce forecasts of near-term economic activity for major economies outside of North America
  • Deliver briefings to senior management and the Governing Council on your subject-matter expertise
  • Develop and improve monitoring tools and models, as well as conduct longer-term analyses
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in economics or finance with a minimum of two years of relevant work experience in macroeconomics or econometrics
  • Advanced knowledge of macroeconomics and sound econometric skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas to a broad range of audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a facility for collaboration and teamwork
