The estimated annual salary for this position is between $55,000 and $63,000 CAD, depending on experience. Job Description

This role involves supervising staff and overseeing daily operations of the dietary department. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring efficient workflows and adherence to Public Health and Ecosure standards;
  • Providing direct supervision during meal services to monitor processes and resident satisfaction;
  • Cordinating dietary activities with other departments to create efficiencies, reduce costs, and maintain budgetary requirements;
  • Preparing cyclical menu plans in line with necessary guidelines, incorporating input from clients and residents, and maintaining residents' nutritional care plans;
  • Performing inventory and reporting functions to the Director, Ministry, and other stakeholders;
  • Managing annual fiscal budget expectations, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines;
  • Overseeing staffing functions including training, development, performance management, and discipline;

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must have:

  • Completion of Food and Nutrition program as recognized by governing body;
  • Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM) certification;
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in food service management;
  • 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience;
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills;
  • Prior experience managing in a unionized environment, preferably within long term care;
