Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paramedic Team Lead to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Senior Clinical Operations Coordinator, you will provide daily operational and clinical leadership and support for both MIH staff and management from a front-line patient care role as a Community Paramedic.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Patient Care: Providing direct patient care and serving as a recognized standard of clinical and operational knowledge.
  2. Mentorship: Augmenting the clinical and operational understanding of frontline colleagues through mentorship and guidance.
  3. Instruction: Collaborating with MIH Quality Assurance and Clinical Development to ensure best practice through training packages, educational modules, and in-person instruction.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement: Providing stakeholders with an understanding of MIH policy and direction, and directing concerns and proposals to the appropriate level of MIH Management.
  5. MIH Development: Supporting program growth in services provided by MIH Management.
  6. Logistical & Operational Support: Providing logistical and operational support as required by MIH Management.

This is a senior leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, demonstrated proficient operational and clinical ability, and experience in applying leadership skills including decision making, mentoring, teaching, and engagement.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Advanced Care Paramedic Program: Completion of an accredited Advanced Care Paramedic program.
  • Registration with ACP: Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as Advanced Care Paramedic.
  • BCLS-HCP: Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider certification.
  • Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence: Must hold a valid Class 4 Alberta Operator's Licence with no more than six demerits.
  • F.A.R.E. Test: Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months prior to the application date.
  • Leadership Experience: Evidence of continued personal and professional development, and experience in applying leadership skills including decision making, mentoring, teaching, and engagement.
